The Story of The Karaoke Crew

The Karaoke Crew didn’t start as a business plan.

It began more than 25 years ago in Oklahoma, with a bar, a microphone, and a group of people who loved music and being together.

Back in 2000, Cathy and Bill owned a neighborhood bar and were always looking for ways to bring new life to their slower nights. They decided to buy karaoke equipment and start hosting shows themselves.

What happened next surprised them.

Those slow nights quickly became the busiest nights of the week. People came to sing, but soon the place was filled with dancing, cheering, and laughter, and the crowd kept growing week after week.

A simple microphone had turned into something much bigger than entertainment.

It was bringing people together.

Before long, people around town began referring to Cathy and Bill simply as “the karaoke people.” The name stuck, and their shows became known as the place where everyone felt welcome to grab a microphone and have a good time.

Friendships formed. Regulars returned week after week. Strangers became friends, and over time, many of those friends became like family.

After selling the bar, Cathy and Bill continued hosting karaoke shows, and the community that had grown around those nights continued to follow them, and the shows became about much more than singing songs.

It was about the people.

Some nights, the room would be full of singers. Other nights, people were dancing, cheering each other on, or simply sitting together enjoying the music. Over time, it started feeling like something people belonged to

Cathy and Bill later moved to Texas, where they stepped back for a while and simply enjoyed karaoke again as part of the crowd. But wherever they went, the same thing kept happening: people gathered around the music.

Friends would text asking, “Where are we going tonight?” Sometimes all it took was a single message, and dozens of people would show up wherever the group decided to go.

That’s when the name evolved.

The Karaoke People had become The Karaoke Crew.

Looking back, Cathy and Bill understand something they didn’t realize when they started.

Great karaoke isn’t just about singing or music.

It’s about building a community, a kind of family, where people feel welcome, supported, and excited to come back again.

Over the years, The Karaoke Crew has shared countless memories, from nights of singing and dancing in packed bars to dinners at each other’s homes, pool parties, and even traveling together on Karaoke Crew cruises.

What started with a microphone in a small bar grew into something much bigger.

Today TKC Entertainment (The Karaoke Crew) hosts karaoke, music bingo, trivia, DJ events, and other celebrations across the Spring and Houston area.

You’ll often find us at local venues, restaurants, and breweries, but we also love being part of weddings, private parties, corporate events, church gatherings, fundraisers, and community celebrations.

But the heart of it has never changed

Wherever the microphone is set up, the goal is always the same.

Create a fun, welcoming environment where people can relax, sing, laugh, and feel like they belong. We show up with warmth, respect, and a genuine love for people.

Because after all these years, it has never just been about karaoke.

It’s about the people who make up The Karaoke Crew.
